The Lorain Education Association ("LEA," "we") respects the privacy of our members and visitors. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.
What we collect
- Member accounts. For members with a login, we store a name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
- Announcements. Content officers choose to publish.
- No tracking. This site uses no advertising or third-party analytics trackers.
Passwords
Member passwords are never stored in plain text. They are protected with industry-standard one-way hashing (PBKDF2). We cannot read your password and can only reset it.
Cookies
When a member signs in, we set a single secure, HttpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in for a limited time. It is used only for access to the Member Hub — not for tracking. Logging out or closing your session ends it.
Third-party content
The Member Hub embeds a Google Calendar and links to documents hosted on Google. Google may set its own cookies when you interact with those embeds or links, governed by Google's privacy policy.
How we use information
Member data is used solely to provide member access and union communications. We do not sell or share member information with third parties for marketing.
